So here it is, the long-awaited almost year-late update.

As for that tiny bachelor apartment, it lasted until about mid-November when I'd had enough of the rats that had moved in. I moved a few blocks away in with a friend who I lived with in 02/03. (I can e-mail you a picture of the rat that broke the camels back, if you want. Fourteen inches long! Unfortunately, I didn't think to snap a shot of the rat that made its way into my bed while I was trying to sleep. Sorry.)

Since then, I've graduated from university with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a minor in writing. I moved back to good ol Eastern Ontario about a week and a half ago to do my yearly struggle for a job routine. This time, however, I don't have the moutains or ocean to see from my window so it's a little more frustrating than past years.

The payoff though? I've planned and booked an 11-week trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji with my friend Elizabeth. We leave in mid-September and will try to afford some backpacking until the beginning of December. Then the plan is to move back to Vancouver and dip our toes into the real world (unless we can find other distractions in the meantime). If anyone's been to any of these lovely countries, send me an e-mail and tell me what we should do.

In health news, I've seen my West Coast oncologist a few times in the past year and everything's been just fine. Now I'm trying to renegotiate the Ottawa Cancer Centre and its incompetence with general planning and courtesy. I'll see my hometown oncologist and maybe hit up the CT Scanner while I'm in town for the summer. The only lingering effect that I can really notice is my stupid tooth enamel that refuses to do its job, which has resulted in cavities every time I go to the dentist (1 cavity pre-chemo, 9 post-chemo, so far...). Well, aside from the obvious survivor's bragging rights, of course.

So that's about it. Oh yeah, my 3 year post-chemo anniversary is next sunday (the 22nd). Woo!
